One clear outcome

A findings outcome — not a score.

We don't grade companies or rate people. We tell you whether there are sourced, dated findings you should read before you decide — and we tell you when a check couldn't be completed, rather than calling it clear.

No adverse findings
All checks completed, nothing to review.
Findings to review
Sourced facts worth reading first.
Material findings
Significant records — read them in full.
Some checks incomplete
A source was down — never shown as “clear”.
The honest question

“Companies House is free — why pay Veritain?”

Because free filings are raw material, not an answer. Companies House shows you one company. It won't cross-check five registers, screen sanctions, map the directors' other companies and their outcomes, or tell you which of it matters.

We read every register, cross-check them, screen sanctions, map connected companies, human-check the serious findings — and hand you one clear, sourced, dated outcome in minutes.

Where does the data come from — and how current is it?
Only official UK public registers, named on every finding. Each finding is dated “as at” the day we read the register, so you can see exactly how current it is. We don't add opinion — we show you the record and where it came from.
Is my use of Veritain lawful?
Veritain is built for lawful B2B due diligence — assessing companies and their directors you have a legitimate business reason to check (a customer, supplier, tenant or counterparty), drawing only on already-public records. It's not a “people search” and shouldn't be used as one.
Is this a credit score?
No. A credit score predicts whether a company will pay. Veritain surfaces the counterparty signals a score can miss — a director's other companies and how those ended, live winding-up petitions, insolvency notices, disqualifications, sanctions matches and registered charges — each shown as a sourced, dated fact for your own judgement.
How fast is it?
Most reports are ready in minutes. Reports with findings to review are human-checked before they're issued, which can take a little longer — we'd rather be right than instant.
What happens if you find something adverse?
You see it, sourced and dated, and you decide what it means. We don't grade the company or tell you whether to trade with them. One thing does change though: a report with material findings isn't released automatically — a named analyst checks it against the source records first, which can take up to 24 hours. We email you the moment it's out, and because we only take payment when a report is issued, you're not charged for a report that never arrives.
Can I get a refund?
If we can't produce a report on the company you searched, you don't pay. If something's wrong with a report you received, contact us at support@veritain.co.uk.
